Cosmetic surgery, in its true sense, is an elective process that's performed to redo or boost body parts a patient could find unflattering. Since cosmetic surgery has a natural aesthetic intent, it is mostly not covered by health insurance. The argument put forth by insurance firms is that someone can very well do without cosmetic surgery, and the process is used for plain beautification rather than being a life saving surgery.
